Hello! First of all, this plug in is great! It’s the only one I’ve found that actually does what I want it to do. I’m pretty new to this whole thing so please bear with me.

My problem is with custom images. I have been trying to figure it out for about a week now but haven’t been able to. I read through the previous posts with harley130 but I’m still having trouble. Here it goes:

I have a png image of an ice cream cone. One is fully colored and the one next to it is not. (I used the provided images as a template to create my image). My first problem is that the image will not show up if it is placed in the custom images folder provided. It will show up if I place it in the images folder with the plug-in provided images; however, it is very small. I tried to change the size with the settings in the plugin but it did not change the size. Then I tried to change the actual size of the image but this also did not change anything. Also, ever since I added my image to the folders, the rating doesn’t calculate. I switched back to using the star image, but it still doesn’t calculate.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Hayleea,

thanks for your post and the provided information! It seems like you have several problems.

You are right with the custom images folder. Something happened with it. I will try to fix this one soon.

The resizing shouldn’t be a problem if you have no additional CSS files which are higher priorized than the one which is inside the plugins folder. Can you provide a link where I can have a look at the images?

Did I understand correct that the average calculation worked until you added another folder? What happens if you delete the folder? I added one to my installation and the calculation still works for me.

    Hi Chasil,

    Thanks for your response!

I deactivated and reactivated the plugin, deleted my image from the plugin folder, kept fiddling with re-sizing my image, then added it back to the image folder, and I got it to work!

The calculation is working as well!

The problem I have now is that when there is a .5 rating, the image shrinks. Here is an example.

I would be grateful for any guidance you can suggest!

    Thanks for all your help,

Ok, I see what you mean. Is this something what happens just with your ice cone or is every grafic buggy?

If you made the grafic: Would you like to send it to me so that I can test with it? What do you think about adding your cone to the plugins standard grafics?

It only happens with my image. The other images don’t change.

I didn’t draw the graphic, I just colored it in. The vector image is free for commercial use as long as you attribute it. So I’m not sure if it can be included or not, but I downloaded it from the link below. If it were strictly mine, I would definitely let you include it!

I can definitely send you the image I created. Where should I send it?

    Thanks!

    Hayleea,

I just had a closer look at your page and found the image.

I think I found the problem. The image itself is 150×150 px but the cone itself is about the half. There is a transparent border which should be removed for a correct resizing.
The second part is that the picture you use is exacty the same inside every sub directory. This will cause some trouble for the browser based resizing via style sheet and depending on the browser the generated picture will look “pixeled”. You should save your image in different sizes inside the folders. Folder “20” has images inside with a height of 20px and the needed width etc. Just have a look at the provided images inside the different sub directories.

I think I will work on the custom images folder problem this weekend. Please save a copy of your image on your local device. When you update the plugin the images folder will be cleared. That’s why I implemented the custom images folder.

Do you have your customized cone image in high resolution? If you want me to help you with it send it to me[at]cizero.de and I will try to edit it at the weekend. I will have a look at the licence information to check if I may use it.

    Hi Mike,

I just sent you an email with a new file attached. I changed the image and you can see the new image at the same link above. I’m not sure why the unrated parts are turning out pink?

    Thanks!
