I did not hear from you about how you know it is 4.3, ie is it documented or anything,,,
So I just tried making a link in one of my sites and I can duplicate what you say – I also get a popup when I click on a link.
So it does seem to be part of 4.3.
Do I know how to get rid of it?
No.
But i will check into it and let you know if I find anything….
I would also like to say that your description of the issue is actually fine. We just did not know of this new feature and so we could not answer you.

Just to be clear, does it happen with a click on the link, or even if you just hover over the link?
With me it happens only if I click the link.
For me, it happens with hover over too. I would take a video, but I live in an area where YouTube is blocked and with very slow internet, so I am afraid I would not be able to post it here.
I think you will have to work around it this way:
To not get the popup, do not click on a link. Hovering seems to be ok.
To get rid of the popup, if you get it and dont want it, click anywhere else in the editing screen. Do not click the X.
The X I agree is not clear – it is easy to interpret that as close the popup, but actually it means delete the link.
If it happens with hover too, just try clicking in a blank or non link text area of your editor to get rid of the popup.
This seems to be a new 4.3 feature and will likely not be removed or changed.
wefan1000 ok thanks. When I click on a blank area, the popup does not go away, and when I click on the X in the popup, it removes the link. But if it is just a feature that will be there, so be it. WordPress is still overall good for me. Thanks!
