Problem with odd 301 from postname to post_id

    I’m hosting a client site where some /%postname%/ URLs redirect to the associated /%post_id%/ URL.

    This site was built with /%postname%/ permalinks from day one, so these redirects have me scratching my head.

    Someone let me know how to debug this or better point me to a URL(s) discussing how to debug this.

    Command line incantations to query database are fine too.

    If all else fails, I’ll use dbgrep to see if I can figure it out.
