Save image locally or strip the outbound link

Is there a function where I can save the image locally, or set the images to not have outbound hyperlinks?

I believe saving image locally is much better, because we can control the size from wordpress. Many images taken from source have images that are too large it goes out of the border, but if image is within our own site, it will follow the theme automatically.
