jfambrini,
All you should need to do for WordPress to see them, is upload the image files to WordPress through the Media/Add New menu item on the WordPress Dashboard. The links, however, may need to be changed to point to their new location. I’m not sure how you’re intending to “port over” the html into WordPress pages, though…? Are you just going to design new pages, and do a copy/paste of the information? (just asking…)
Augustin, actually I’m following the advice you gave me in other thread. I don’t know if you remember, the site is http://www.jim4x4.com/. It was designed in 2002 in Frontpage then converted to Expression Web. As per your advice I started copy pasting the existing pages in new posts. It started out very easy but when I start reading the pages I realized that the content is showing its age as it is an accretion of editors changing some content over the years and retaining others so now am stuck on post 4 as I’m having to rewrite most of it so it seems that the project will no longer be just a one day project but may take at least one week.
I don’t understand how I can upload image files via Add new menu item or is that a typo. I would like to just FTP the images folder to the new site’s WordPress folder and then access it in each page. Right now I’m uploading one image at a time. In Joomla I upload the images folder via FTP and I can see it when I’m placing an image in an article. I was looking for similar functionality. I’ve been a Joomla-head for over a decade so will take some time to adjust to a new CMS.
