• Ah well – I suppose this should really go into the forums-feedback mailing list, however, I’ll post here partly because I think this has a winder audience, and largely because I’m a lazy idiot 🙂

I’m new (as you can figure out) to the WP forums, and (relatively) new to WP in general. Usually, when I sign up at a community, I look for a “Readme first” kind of post so I get familiar with the general guidelines and conventions of the particular group. Here, I could find such a document only by some poking around, and I’m really not sure this leaps out at anyone not looking for it – which, IMO, is a bit unfortunate (unless I’m missing something here).

Can we please have (visibly) more formatting options in posts? Sorry if this has come up before, I’ll confess to not having searched-before-asking, but…

I’d really love the option to include (small, optimized) images – a part of a screenshot can sometimes explain a good deal more than a paragraph or two, and if the images are cropped appropriately the could be quite small – and I’d rather not upload them elsewhere and then link to them. Also, the option to use different colors (even three or four, if you are concerned about abuse) can help for emphasis and highlighting.

An autosave of posts that are still under construction would be a wonderful feature, although I’m not sure how easily it is implemented, or how much server overhead it’s going to cost. The feature itself is similar to what we have for wordpress posts already 🙂 All my habits die hard, and I often accidentally navigate away from a page in which I’m writing this long post [yes, yes, I know, how can anyone be so stupid? :)]… I’d love to come back and see auto-saved drafts of my posts in my profile or something along those lines.

I sorely miss a “Preview” button.

    Emoticons? ^_^
    Please?
    (Okay, okay, only joking there…)

    Thanks for reading!
    Err… 🙂
