I want to have a file that people can purchase and download. I have had problems uploading media files. Should I convert my word files to pdf before I upload them?

I have problems with media problems loading media files and find it easier to use cut and paste files. I plan to let customers view the first paragraph and then provide them with a link to the story. What could I use?

If you have problems loading media files, have you contacted your Host? In regards to your question.

Are you planning in selling your story or simply add a link for them to download the story?

I would like to provide customers with a link to story. The link will be received when they purchase the story. The problem that I am experiencing is that I only seem to be able to use cut and paste to upload the stories. If I use the media upload I am only able to upload the title. I have been attempting to see if there is a an issue with the host but cannot seem to find one. Do I need to adjust the size of the media files that I upload or can I supply customers with a link to the page that is not visible to the public?

Hi, how big is your file? Have you tried to contact your host about this issue?

The size of the file is 238k. I have contacted the host and have looked on the on my dashboard and can find nothing that would indicate that there is nothing that will affect my ability to upload media. I would be happy not to use the media library I don’t care if it does not work. What I want to know is what link I can use it the cut and paste story that is there so that customers can download it when they have purchased it.

Hi, the problem of not been able to upload media files can cause other issues in the future. Have you tried different browsers? How much memory do you have allocated to your website? Did you try to disable all other plugins except this one?

    In regards to your question

What I want to know is what link I can use it the cut and paste story that is there so that customers can download it when they have purchased it.

I am not sure how you would do that. The option of selling media files using the plugin is set up in this way by adding a shortcode that has the URL of the media file added.

At this stage I don’t care about my media library my only interest is how can I sent the document that I have cut and pasted on my site to customers when they have purchased it. Could I use the permalink?

Hi, the permalink would not work. One of the plugin developers will investigate your issue further.

You should just be able to use the FULL URL of the file in question and use that in the shortcode.

Have you made a mistake when creating this URL? What happens if you enter this URL in the browser’s address bar. Does it give you a 404 error? Meaning you have a typo in the URL.

Make sure the file URL is valid and accessible then use it in this plugin’s shortcode. If your actual file URL is invalid then this plugin won’t be fix that magically.
