Enhancement Request

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the plugin. I plan on using it on a site I’m staging, but there is one enhancement I would love to see, if it’s not presumptive or rude to ask.

I would like it to work not only with the_content(), but also independently with any custom meta text area or tinymce wysiwyg field. Each field would have it’s own numbering sequence, and the footnote list would be appended to the bottom of the corresponding meta field. I’m using Advanced Custom Fields to configure the extra fields, but it shouldn’t matter what tool I’m using.

Currently, if I put a footnote in a custom tinymce field with the [note] shortcode, the shortcode is appropriately replaced with the superscript, but the footnote content shows up in the footnote list in the_content(), instead of the custom field, and is not independently numbered.
