I’m not sure I fully understand what you’re asking, but I can tell you that if Express Checkout is the only gateway you have enabled it will override the Proceed to Checkout button with the PayPal Express Checkout button so that the WooCommerce checkout page can simply be skipped.

If this is not what you want, you can either enable another payment gateway to go along with Express, or you could go into the Express Checkout settings and set the Checkout Page Display setting to one of the following options:

    – Display in general list of payment gateways on checkout page.
    – Display both at the top and in the general list of gateways on the checkout page.

By doing that the Proceed to Checkout button should show up along with the Express Checkout button on your cart page.

Keep in mind, though, that one of the benefits of Express Checkout for buyers is that they don’t have to spend time filling out checkout forms on your site. If you force people through your checkout page even when paying with PayPal your conversion rate my suffer.

Let me know if you have any questions about that.

Is there a way to change the URL that the Proceed to Checkout button goes to, to go to the Express Checkout page? I know it sounds redundant for multiple buttons on the same page going to the same place, but the people I am dealing with are easily confused.

Our plugin would not provide that, no. Again, though, if you enable nothing but Express Checkout the checkout button that gets displayed will go straight to the Express Checkout page.

If you’d rather have a different button than the PayPal button you could always set the option to use a custom image instead of the PayPal image. That would be found in the Express Checkout settings.

So then you could make the button look like the regular Proceed to Checkout button or any other graphic you like.
