Completely stuck!

I don’t know why I’m struggling so much, but I can’t get any of the cool features like the slider, promotion bar, or featured text boxes to show up. Do I have to build a static page? Do I need shortcodes? Am I missing plugins? I’m completely stuck on making the site respond like anything near the live demo.

Help!

For reference, my site is catsofseattle.com. And no that’s not as nerdy as it sounds… 🙂

Thanks shinjing – that is an excellent video on how to set up the custom homepage.

Valisemag – the features you have mentioned are part of the custom homepage template. You must be using this template on a page for the features to appear. If you follow shinjings video you will see how to set this up.

Hello you would have mix the custom home template and the index file together. However the custom home template does already show the 4 most recent posts.

Hey all — thanks so much for your help! I was able to get the formatting of the custom home page!

Does anyone have suggestions for the logo size? I find that when I upload a logo, it seems to push the menu to the next line.

Hello,

recommended logo size is 290px x 90px
