I’m testing MailPoet on a WP site that is not yet open to the outside world, so I cannot give you a link.

How can I edit or import a table into a Titles & Text box in the newsletter without editing in the HTML code?

Our newsletter often has tabular content like match results and a calendar of upcoming events. The product we are using currently (GroupMail) has a basic WYSIWYG table editor. Yes indeed, each email client displays them a bit different, but it is acceptable. And yes, I have seen those articles telling how bad it is to use tables for layout, but is there an alternative for tables in HTML email?

MailPoet apparently uses tables for layout. When I display the source code in Outlook of my first test newsletter I counted 15 <table> elements, some tables even nested.

  • The only way possible is through HTML code. To enable it, you should go to the Settings page > Advanced tab > Allow HTML edits.
