    Hi guys,
I’d love to NOT display the full text on my front page.
How do I get the ‘Continue Reading’ Option?
    Thank you!

    Hi anjasewso,

Baskerville displays an excerpt of 40 words and then the “Continue Reading” link as standard on archive pages (and the front page). You can write your own excerpt by entering a text into the excerpt field when creating/editing a post. You can find more info here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Excerpt

    Hi there,
I’ve written an excerpt for all my posts now but it’s not being displayed. Adding the “> Read More… into the field doesn’t add a link either… I’m using the free version online, not a proper website…

    Hi,

I have the exact same problem with the “Continue Reading” option: on my front page the full blog posts are shown (not the continue reading button, which I would very much like to have instead).

    Have a look at https://countryundco.wordpress.com/

I am using the free version and I am not very technical.

What can I do, please help. Thx, Dolly

Hello, I am having the same problems. Hope we can find a solution!

I am also having the same problem and using the free version. Would be happy to pay for the template if we can get this feature to work.

    My blog is: https://rusticlearning.wordpress.com/

I am also using a wordpress hosted site. Maybe that is the issue?

OK, I think I figured this out (at least for me). It seems that when writing your post you have to add the more tag to indicated where you want the continue reading link to show up. Here’s a link to how to do this.

Once I added this to my posts it worked.

Hi I have the same issue and I added the tag as suggested and then on the home page the article is cut but the link to read the rest doesn’t appear.
Also, I don’t see any space to put a customised excerpt, I would like that instead of having the beginning of the article.
    Thanks!
