    Hi,

My security plugin keeps detecting changes to your readme.txt file usually a couple of days before you come out with the next version upgrade.

It says “This file belongs to plugin “Broken Link Checker” version “1.10.9” and has been modified from the file that is distributed by WordPress.org for this version”

Obviously I did not change that file in my copy, also looking at the changes it highlights, I doubt a hacker would want to do it, so the only thing I can think of is that you may be changing files on the WordPress.org without them being bundled into a new version.

FYI, the change this time is:

    2 Contributors: freediver,whiteshadow

    vs.

    2 Contributors: whiteshadow

Do you have an idea about what this could be caused by?

  • That’s nothing to worry about. I did actually make that change on wordpress.org (adding a new person to the contributor list). It will also be included in the next version.

I wasn’t really worried, I really just wanted to understand the reason.

Interestingly I don’t see this happening on any other plugin.

    Thanks for clarifying.
