• Hi all,

I will try and explain this as best as I can!

    1. Live site was copied to an online development site. This involved copying the database and wordpress files to essentially make 2 identical sites.
    2. Development site was used to add new products, content and styling.
    3. Dev site is now ready to replace live site…
    4. … however we have since taken a few orders on the live site. My concern is that replacing the database from the development site will erase the order and customer information that exists on the live site.

my idea was to copy across order and customer information from the Live database to the Development database. Then copy everything across from development to live. Alternatively, find the new pages from the development site and copy them to the live.

This is where I fall over. My knowledge of mySQL is pretty limited and I’ve only used what I’ve had to to get by. Any advice on best practice would be HUGELY appreciated. Also if anyone knows of a more streamlined solution please let me know.

    Many thanks,

    Dave
