• Hello! πŸ™‚

I am having an issue with widget links. I downloaded this new plugin that allows users to like pages and posts and content on my site so that they can find it again with easy access. It’s called KKILikeIt.

One specific widget is having trouble linking. It’s called the KK I Like It – User Liked (this displays the likes of the particular logged in user). The links are displayed in the widget, as do your Recent Post widget links, but they do NOT link. You can click on the title of the content, but it simply links you back to the same page you were already on, not to the page of that specific content.

The HREF (displayed in Firebug) is displaying the HREF correctly for a recent post link.

It works perfectly. But this is what it is displaying for User Liked. It is also correct! But it is not linking. It is bringing me back to the same page.

What could be wrong with the linking?

My site is badassbodies.com and any help with this would be EXTREMELY helpful!

Ps. The support forum for this plugin is dead, so I come to you geniuses for help πŸ™‚

Did you even bother to click the link to my site. It’s a bodybuilding fitness website for people of all ages. Don’t let the term ‘badass’ scare you. Man up and do your research.

Side note: @swansonphotos Could you please stop using the forum welcome like a stick? The site in question despite the name is hardly NSFW and I’ve deleted your back and forth.

If you want to help other forum members here then please do. Getting into it with someone just asking a question isn’t really useful.

Back to the question at hand: What plugin is that and where did you get it? KKILike it? URL for the plugin please?

Thank you so much, sir! Okay: so the plugin is called KKILikeit. Found here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/kk-i-like-it/

Like I said, their forum is dead and the developers has lost hope for supporting. Everything on this plugin works fantastic, only the links are broken when I try to click on my likes. It will simply reload the page, and not take me to my desired destination.

If you’d like, I can allow you a quick account where you can go in, favorite one post or something, and then see for yourself. That I feel would be a great way to show you. I have an account ready for testing purposes!

No thanks, that sort of thing is actively frowned upon and discouraged. πŸ˜‰

It could be a theme issue or another plugin. Give these steps a try just to rule that out.

Deactivate all other plugins, switch to the Twenty Fifteen theme, clear your cookies and cache then try and use the plugin again.

I don’t think it will work but eliminating other items can help confirm that.

Totally understood. Thank you! I am attempting this now. I’ll let you know in just a few minutes! πŸ™‚

Good idea but nothing has changed. Didn’t seem to be the problem, just like you said!

Now I am noticing that the HREF is only displaying the content title, and not the URL which it should be.

This is what it should be like: <a href="url">link text</a>
Instead, it is simply this: <a href="">link text</a>

    See here!

Why is the HREF missing the URL?
