Support » Plugin: Custom Post Type UI » Custom Post types break when updated

  • I have inherited a site that I am doing maintenance on. It is right now updated to 3.8.8. When I try to update it higher the custom post types go down to only showing the latest post when there are many that should be showing. As soon as I revert it back to 3.8.8 they all show up again. How can I fix this so the site can be on the current version of core?

    Hi Michele,

That is a good question that I don’t presently have an answer for. The question I have is what/why is the listing being limited? Is this in the WordPress admin, or somewhere else?

I’m struggling to think of anything related to our plugin that would be causing issues with this, but I’m definitely not ruling it out completely.

In the dashboard all of them show. They are studios and games and they show in the dashboard once I update. As soon as I run the update they disappear from their page. The live site is nzgda.com and the updated dev site is at http://development.13core.com and if you click on games, studios, news or careers you will only see the one post.

Hmm. Interesting. Sadly that has me no more sure about the issue than previously mentioned.

Our plugin doesn’t do anything that affects the frontend, all we focus on is getting the post types and taxonomies registered, as well as some utility now with import/export ability.

Something is affecting the query with the latest version, but I’m not able to determine what from where I am.

If you really want to confirm, you should be able to deactivate CPTUI and re-check the frontend. We never delete content unless the user told us to (mostly registered types and taxonomies), so the content would still be query-able for on the frontend.

    Wish I could help more.
