• Is this a problem with Marsedit or WordPress?
    If I type:
    > Something
    >
    > Something else

It will post just fine, but when I got back to edit it later in Marsedit it is displayed as:
    > Something>> Something else

This is not what I want. I wonder if WordPress is sending the wrong sting to Marsedit?

  • I’m getting the same problem with the “Textile 2 (Improved)” plugin. Something has obviously changed. Should we wait for updates from the plugin makers, or will this be fixed in WordPress itself?

Woah, after doing some tinkering, I’ve realized the problem has nothing to do with my Textile plugin. The problem manifests itself whenever wp-amazon is activated on my plugin list. When I deactivate that, everything works fine. Weird.

I was also having problems viewing post drafts. Disabling wp-amazon seems to have fixed that as well.

myobie, do you have wp-amazon installed? Have you tried deactivating it?

The only plugin I have activated is the markdown plugin that comes with WordPress.

This problem only shows up with block quotes. It seems that wordpress does not like to have Markdown blockquotes in it’s post. Now, this must be possible, but how?

    I would love any ideas?

I was having the same problem as myobie. I turned off the markdown plugin and everything is fine now. Thanks myobie.

I cannot turn off the Markdown plugin because my pages are entirely authored in Markdown. I am glad you got it to work, but I need a fix for this sometime.

I am 98% sure this is wordpress’ fault.

I’m having the same problem with MarsEdit, except it’s in every post (regardless of whether I have a blockquote) and I don’t have Markdown enabled. I’m assuming there’s some filter stripping CRLF (or maybe turning CRLF into just LF?) in xmlrpc.php, but I haven’t decoded it enough to test yet.
