• Hi,

I am currently using WPallimport to import posts into my real estate website. I would like to create the site in multiple languages using Polylang.

If I have already imported the English version of the site and decide to import all properties in Spanish. How do I tell wordpress which spanish properties are translations of the english properties?

Is there a specific custom field that connects the two properties, or post meta info that is the same for both posts?

Also is it possible to tell the spanish post to use the images from the english translation during the import?

    Thank you

    Hi!

The only importer that Polylang supports out of the box is WordPress Importer. I don’t know the other.

    Hi Chouby,
    I appreciate your reply.

How does your system connect two translations together? Is it through a custom field? or a particular post meta info?

    thanks

Two post translations are connected together thanks to a taxonomy ‘post_translations’.

The posts are associated to the same term in the taxonomy. What makes things a bit more complex is that the description field of the term stores a serialized array of all post ids connected together.

As it is rather complex, there is an API function save_post_translations for 3rd party plugins to handle this easily.
