Site Icon Size Recommendation

    Testing WordPress 4.3 Beta 1.

    After uploading site icon, I see the error message.

    The selected image is smaller than 512px in width.

    Would like to know if this is a requirement for all sites, or WordPress themes define this size? If it is the recommended size for site icons in the core, then shouldn’t it be mentioned on Settings > General screen just below the Site Icon option?

    We mark posts that have trac tickets as resolved for sanity. It lets mods and volunteers know we don’t have to jump in and find an issue. You should follow the discussion on trac. You can click the ‘Watch’ button on the trac ticket (it’s near the bottom) to get email alerts. If you need to log in, it’s the same ID/password as you use for the forums.
