Hello, the Zencache update I performed today blew the site. The only way to get back in was to use FTP and rename the plugin folder. I let it sit for a while, then I went back and tried to get it back working and it blew the site again. So it’s still Zencache-OFF right now. Any solution?

@mymothersdaughter We’re currently investigating an issue that appears to be a PHP bug (not a bug with ZenCache itself but rather with the server-side software that runs ZenCache and WordPress itself). For now, if you need to get ZenCache running on your site, we recommend downloading and installing the previous version (download v150409).

If you could, one thing that would be immensely helpful to us in debugging this issue would be if you could tell us the PHP Version and APC Version that your server is currently running. Here’s how you can get that information:

    1. Install the WordPress phpinfo() plugin
    2. Visit WordPress Dashboard → Settings → WordPress phpinfo()
At the top of that page it should say “PHP Version”, with a version number–that’s the version number we need.
    3. If you then search that page for “apc” or “APC Support”, you should find the APC section along with a version number (possibly 3.1.9 or 3.1.13); we need that version number as well. (Note: If your server doesn’t have APC Support enabled, you might not find any section called “APC” on the page.)

If you could let us know those two version numbers, that will help us diagnose this problem. Thanks so much!

    Here it is:

    PHP Version 5.4.19
    APC Version 3.1.13

@mymothersdaughter Thanks so much for those details! One more question: When you say that ZenCache ‘blew the site’, was there any error message that showed up?

Same thing here. No errors, just blank page. I renamed the plugins/zencache directory and the website started working again.

To be sure that was zencache update, I enabled it again and the website crashed again. So it’s disabled for now.

@carolcomandulli Would it be possible to follow the steps I outlined above and tell me which PHP Version and APC Version you’re running on your site?
