• Hello
I have read several posts about rendering javascript and website scores. I feel like I have tried everything yet I can get above a 53 on mobile and 67 on desktop.
Is there an easy way to explain how to solve this problem?
My website is http://www.fatplantssandiego.com and I will admit that I have no idea what I am doing. Any advice, criticism, clues, magic spells are welcome!

    Thanks in advance
    Marisa

  • Who’s doing the scoring and what are they rating?

if we check these results from page speed you have 48 and 61 page speed score in Mobile/desktop https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fatplantssandiego.com%2F

main recommendation is to optimize images . i guess you should hit 70+ if you do so. google says to compress and resize but doesnt mention what and how to compress, for that check these result for detailed description of which files to fix

rendering javascript advice is for one single javascript being picked from wordpress server (by plugin jetpack), i beleive you could have loaded it asynchronously only if it was on your server.

    Thanks guys.
It was pagespeed insights where I found the scoring.

Is EWWW image optimizer the best way to optimize images? I keep reading that I shouldnt use too many plugins on my site.
Thank you for the results page, I am going to try to wrap my brain around it.

What is the rule about plugins generally? How many should you use and which ones are critical?
Im a gardener, I have no idea about this computer stuff. 🙂
