The webpage http://www.addthis.com provide you the code to insert the sharing-button bar. You must to insert it in the header.php of your wordpress theme. Admin -> Themes -> Editor. You can find another or better sharing-button bars plugins for wordpress in the plugins section! 😉
Kimbert – if you go the Addthis route, just keep in mind that you should avoid editing the header.php file directly, as you’ll lose that change every time you update the theme to the latest version. Here are some guides to creating a child theme instead, in case you haven’t made one before:

Hello Kathryn
thank you, the floating social media tags are great and the developpers are helpful.

KathleenThis is a good explanation of the difference between posts and pages: https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
It’s from WordPress.com but also applies to any WordPress site.
Portfolio projects are different from posts and pages, and usually meant for displaying visual work like photos, drawings, graphic design, etc. You can activate portfolio support with the Jetpack plugin’s Custom Content Types module and use them with any theme.
