Same Blog, New Version, New Theme; How to Bring the Old Stuff?
-
Hi, everyone!
My WP blog (www.claudiolessa.com) was hosted by someone for quite a while until it reached version 3.4.x; then, another company bought the host and started a slow migration process. Recently, they have sent me a complete backup of the blog before migrating it (and erasing everything in the process) to the new servers.
Now, I have the same blog with a new WP version (4.2.2) and a new theme (“Freelancers”, from GeneratePress) and I would like to bring back ONLY the posts (pics, commentary, videos) from the “old” blog to the new one, leaving behind all the unnecessary & disposable stuff (old themes, old plugins, old everything). As a matter of fact, I don’t even intend to bring all the old stuff, but only what I would consider most important.
The million dollar question:
How the heck do I do that?
Folder by folder? Which ones? (I have noticed that the folder structure of the old WP is kinda different from the new, streamlined version.)
Through a plug-in created specifically for that? Which one?
Thanks in advance! I am a complete moron when it comes to the computer’s intestines, so I appreciate any help I can get on this issue!
