• I have read lots of topics with this same problem. (That seems to be an on-going problem for a long time now) I have tried all the suggestions and NONE of them work…

I just want to add my wp.org as a channel to my IFTTT account. I had done this successfully on wp.com.

This is the message I keep getting:

Live channel fields value is not a valid WordPress url
Unable to verify WordPress credentials. Please try again.
Blog URL is not a valid WordPress url

I have read lots of topics with this same problem. (It seems this has been an on-going problem for a long time now) I have tried all the suggestions and NONE of them worked.

It is extremely frustrating! I moved to a self hosting site, because I thought it would give me more options, it just seems crazy to me that this service would easily work with the wp.com blog, but not with this one?!?

Greatly appreciate any help with this!

  • I just did it. Went to my IFTTT account, picked the WordPress to Twitter one. In the dialog to connect to WordPress channel, put my blog’s URL in the URL field (which is http://blog.markheadrick.com/ in my case) and then my username and password (for my actual blog) and it added it fine.

If you have an older WordPress version need to make sure in Settings -> Writing that XML-RPC is enabled.

I have them same issue my wordpress address and site address is set to http://chesapeakecontrols.com and I’m using my admin credentials still no luck. Im on WordPress 4.4.2 I tired awhile back and gave up but still want to get it working.

I’m having the same issue and just posted about it last night. Did anyone get this working for wordpress.org?
