Lost category subscribe/unsubscribe

    I have used Subscribe2 variously in past.

    Somehow, I have now lost the ability for subscribers to subscribe/unsubscribe by category. The Notifications Settings page / Profile page just shows
    Receive periodic summaries of new posts Yes / No
    followed by “Update preferences”

    There is no list of categories as in the screen shots in the documentation.

    I have created the real subscriptions page using the S2 button as instructed.
    I have tried deactivating all none essential plugin to no effect.

    I must be missing something!

    Any guidance much appreciated.

    @antipole

    You are running the plugin in digest mode where emails are sent periodically, your Registered Subscribers can opt in or out but there is no ability to control content by category as it can dramatically increase generation time for the emails and most likely result in failures due to server timeout limits.
