  • Hi! Is it possible to connect to the site an additional MySQL database? The maximum size of the MySQL database at the hosting – 1GB. An opportunity that my site will soon exceed the quota.

  • No, not really.

You can optimise your database, and that will often pare it down a bit. (Back it up first!) There may be a lot of fluff in there.

But if your database is that big, it’s probably time to move off shared hosting.

Thank you, it seems this is what I need, a good plugin. There I also read: Any value of WP_USE_MULTIPLE_DB will be ignored by HyperDB. “WP_USE_MULTIPLE_DB” is in a standard wordpress without plugins?

WP_USE_MULTIPLE_DB is deprecated, back from the old days when MU (Multiuser) was a separate install than WordPress; WordPress and MU were integrated years ago, so now WordPress can be single or MU from the start.
