• I’m helping someone with a website they purchased. They had a site custom built, and now they want me to edit it and work on stuff. Under appearances there is no:
    Editor
    Edit CSS
and I have no Add New Plugin or Add New Theme.
I do have full Admin permission (double checked). We contacted the builder, and they said that those features aren’t available on custom sites. Is this true?

My hunch is that they’re not permitting us to do that so we’ll be forced to pay them to do it.

  • There is no reason that the editor has to be there, so they may have just left it out or not fully integrated it.

    Thanks Reptar!
We’re going to duplicate the theme just in case and then try to add it back on. Is that possible?

If it wasn’t built into the theme then it never was there, so you can’t just “add it back on.” Rather, you would have to build it in.

It also is possible that you were correct in the first place and they simply haven’t given you full access to the site.

They had simply turned it off in WP-Config. Easily fixed.
