Support » Fixing WordPress » Marking Links as Updated

  • There used to be an option whereby a link could be prepended with a symbol to indicate it had been recently updated; is that option still available with Strayhorn? And if so, where is it now located?

I’ve used the cron job method to keep my links updated by time, but I’d like to be able to have them marked as recently updated, if that is still possible.

    Thanks.

I’ll bump this, hoping someone can help me out with this.

I thought i was the only one that couldn’t find it. Looking through my database with phpmyadmin the values are in wp_options, with option_ID’s 79 to 83, so you could enter them directly.

Is there a programmer/hacker out there that can come up with a plugin that will:

    – Show the prepend/postpend options for updated blogs somewhere in the admin area. (Mine is still using the option I had entered back when I was using WP 1.2 which is fine for now but I’d like to have access to change it.)
    – Access weblogs.com (or pingomatic, etc.) to find out which blogs are updated. Basically, I’m looking for something like Carthik’s old plugin for 1.2. I see that this matter is being discussed here but no adequate solutions seem to be forthcoming.

I know that in the grand-blogging-scheme-of-things, this is small potatoes but it’s one of the features I most loved and used in version 1.2.

I have managed to get the options to display by editing options-misc.php and adding some code lifted from a previous beta version. However, when the ‘update options’ is clicked, it says updated but nothing is written to the database. Any ideas on how to make it change the DB?
