• I got hacked. One of the things I did in response was to run some scans to find the malware, and that process led to Wordfence Security plug-in. It found the malware and that was fixed, but it also told me things I never knew:

On average, every 2 minutes of every day someone somewhere tries to log into my blog with an administrator ID. Wordfence makes it easy to block these by IP address.

At least for the past couple of days, there have been 4 crawlers ion my site at the same time!

I really like the ability of Wordfence to detect and automatically block denial of service attacks, and its notification feature that sends an email when a problem is spotted.

I have not tried the Falcon caching engine on my high-traffic site yet. I tried it on a low-traffic site and noted that pages were indeed being cached. It was easy to implement.
