thanks for hinting to that rather extensive plugin with so much in a package :).
However, there are certainly people like me admiring the simplicity of plugins doing exactly one thing needed in contrast to feature-packed goodie houses like the new plugin, bringing in not just new features, but supposively a lot more code/JS WordPress is then carrying around unwantedly for those who just need that simple Selection Sharer of yours. Is by any chance a possibility there of you not abandoning but yet improving your current plugin here in order to make happy two kinds of lads, if I might ask :)?

thanks for the kind words 🙂 and I certainly understand your reasoning and that is one of the reasons why we started out with Inbound Rocket to make the features people want and need to grow their online business and not need to rely on installing all sorts of little plugin island working by themselves and not helping to interact properly etc.
However, looking at your concern here as well. Let’s see if I can make some more time available to do some backporting of functionality from Inbound Rocket to this one if really wanted.
Not making any promises on timing though as you can understand, but I will certainly do my best!

I fully understand that you put all your effort into your Inbound Rocket, possibly to monetise it soon (didn’t find anything about it anywhere on your site), which makes pretty much sense. I would be more than happy if you provided the updated Selection Sharer as a separate plugin, there are just projects on which there is really only the sharer needed, while all the other tools make sense if you need a more thorough package ;).
Yes, I understand the little time you have (the same with me), will just happily wait then ;).

Indeed no monetization on that one yet, but are looking into different options. Although the core will always be free.

Inbound Rocket seems to be fantastic….but back to the present and the original question:
Where are the settings? Specifically, I haven’t got a Facebook icon when I select text to share and can’t work out where to add our page so it’s included.

Thats weird .. I’ve only got Twitter, Linkedin and mail… How do you get facebook as well?
i have the same problem as others. only LinkedIn, twitter and mail… How to get facebook ?
I also tried inbound rocket but even after enabling selection sharer there is nothing displayed on my website when selecting text

for Facebook to work with this plugin you need to add a FB app id and meta data to header of your theme template.
So you need to head over to:
https://developers.facebook.com/
Create an a new app and paste the fb:app_id meta tag information in the header of your theme. (header.php in your theme directory). The upcoming update of Inbound Rocket, has a settings field where you can just paste the code in the backend and have it included automatically though.

is there a way to share the current text selection inside the facebook post’s text instead of just changing the shared post name ?
@anarchoi, I’d wish that Facebook was supporting that, that would be really epic.
Sadly though Facebook is not supporting anything like that, the current way it’s implemented is a bit of a hack as well, but that’s the only thing possible..
