If I go to
CPanel > Content > Plugins and rename WordFence folder to wordfence.disable
I can get back into my admin page. I was hoping to use WordFence, but if it crashes the admin page it’s just unacceptable.
Hi,
Looks like you are running a version of PHP older than 5.3. We released a compatibility hot-fix right after today’s release to fix this issue. The fix went out a few minutes after our initial release, but it looks like you might have caught the older version that is incompatible with your older version of PHP.
So please remove the Wordfence files and then install Wordfence 6.0.5 which should work fine.
If you still have the same issue, please paste here what appears on line 509 in wordfenceClass.php and we’ll diagnose the issue.
Thanks.
Mark.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the fast response. I have installed Wordfence 6.0.5 and it has fixed the issue. Again Thank You!
That’s great, thanks for letting us know.
Regards,
Mark.
Hi!
I’m having also the same issue:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in […] blog/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceClass.php on line 509
I renamed the wordfence plugin but didn’t work. I moved it but didn’t work.
I checked my PHP version which is 5.4.38
Line 509 in wordfenceClass.php has this:
add_action('login_errors', function($content)
I’m having a serious issue as I can’t enter in my admin side. Please help. Thanks!
Regards,
Francisco
Had the same issue half an hour ago had to restore my VM.
Last month an update caused a Falcon Cache issue that blew up the site.
I truly appreciate all of your hard work and fast response, but you gotta do better pre-release testing.
