My tweet this plugin is not using the shortlink for the post even though I have the “use shortlink” option checked. I’ve discovered that it’s a conflict with a shortlink plugin I’m using https://wordpress.org/plugins/shortnit/

I want to be able to use both plugins.

What happens when I have the shortnit plugin activated is that your plugin uses my entire post URL, even though I have your “use shortlinks” option checked.

When I deactivate the shortnit plugin, your plugin will use the default wp shortlink.

    Hello,

Shortn. It seems to handle shortlinks differently than most other plugins, however, its developer has made it easy to make it work too.

I have finished an update which will integrate Tweet This with Shortn. It and allow it to detect and use its shortlinks. I need to finish up error and bug checking, then push out the release. The update should be available within the next few hours.

An important note about how this plugin will integrate with Shortn. It:

Tweet This’ shortcode creator dialog box will use a placeholder shortlink until a post gets its first “Save Draft” or publishing. This is because Shortn. It doesn’t generate its final shortlink until after a post is saved/published for the first time. This is purely cosmetic within the shortcode creator. The final post will have the correct URL.

This happens with many shortlink plugins, but most will generate a warning in the shortcode creator. The different shortlink extraction method doesn’t facilitate detecting placeholders the same way however.

If I find a way to make the warning show appropriately, I will implement it. But, as I said, its purely a cosmetic issue.

Wonderful! Works like a charm. I appreciate you addressing this so quickly. I’m very impressed!
