• Hello guys,

we’ll be launching our online store hopefully in a few days.
Currently we use WC with a specifically designed app to import new products which we keep in our accounting software (as we’ve also run a wholesale store for many years now) – i.e. stocks for individual products variations together with descriptions and categories.

Thing is, after importing a new product(s), it is necessary to update (refresh) all parent product categories, otherwise they do not show on the website. I’ve been doing this manually so far, but it can be annoying having to do it several times a day, as we mean to add new products on a daily basis, at least for the first few weeks. I was wondering if there was a way to update the categories all at once without having to go to Products->Categories->Quick Edit->Update for each one of them, maybe a plugin or an automation of some kind?

    Thank you,
    J.

  • Hello there.

Did you do importing your products via XML by using WP Importer plugin? or how? could you please explain?

Nope, we have got our own custom app that communicates directly with the DB through ftp. Each time it also imports categories, so that they’re up-to-date, which I think is/was the problem.
Anyway I looked into the settings and found an option not to import categories – tried importing just products & their variations, and found out this way it’s not necessary to go presave the categories afterwards so that they would show up on the site.
Thanks for the help anyway, J.
