• From what I can tell from building this site, there is a loading page to the index page – I have never seen this particular on any site on the internet and it is a major flaw in the design of this theme. I will update my review after contacting support.

  • It’s a pre-loading screen. It’s not a flaw and it’s not a bug. These sort of preloaders can be seen in a lot of themes and on a lot of sites.

A better approach would have been to ask us how if it’s possible to remove it if you don’t like it instead of giving a 1-star rating.

Hmm. Could you point me to another site/theme – any site – on the internet that has this pre-loading screen? I’ve never seen it on any other index page. Thanks! I’m happy to revise/delete my review.

We’re not going to list out websites with loading screens. If you Google “website loading screen” you’ll see it’s not as uncommon as you think.

Fair enough – that could be perceived as endorsements. I have never seen one and they are statistically speaking extremely uncommon, maybe 1 per 5/10,000 considering the millions of websites the exist. In any case, I did Google what you suggested and the first link that came up had this to say: “You never want your web visitors to wait. Some argue that the use of a loading screen on your website is unnecessary and can potentially discourage your visitors. .You never want your web visitors to wait. Some argue that the use of a loading screen on your website is unnecessary and can potentially discourage your visitors. Others contend that with ever-quickening connection speeds and a distinct need to stand apart, well-designed immersive websites are well worth the wait. Regardless of where you stand on the matter, it is hard not to appreciate a clever, creatively-designed loading screen that transforms a test of patience into something playful and captivating.”

I agree with all of this and frankly, am most predisposed to the first part, I think it discourages and potentially alienates viewers – it did to me. In fact, I thought something was wrong with my browser. But even if I didn’t think that, I think we can all agree that the loading screen you offer is uninspired. Sorry, but I do think you have failed here.

Nonetheless, if there is a way to remove it, I would be interested in knowing how. I do like much of the index page and am open to reconfiguring other pages to suit my personal needs. Thanks!

It’s okay that you think we failed with the design of the loading screen, we all have different tastes. What isn’t okay is that you rated the theme 1 star for something that can be easily seen if you click the Preview button right here on theme’s page on wordpress.org.

You have two ways of removing it described on your support thread.

As much I can recall on theme forum you mentioned that the loading times problem could be server issue on your side, and that server company is investigating it. 1 star rating for issue which aren’t related to theme well quite uncommon behavior…

No, never a server issue. Anyway, I switched themes. I will re-rate the theme – or unrate, whatever I can do. But there is no question in my mind that the loading screen needs improvement, if not to be removed, period. Those are rare across the web and when they do exist they seem better than 2 balls bouncing. But to each her or his own…apologies if I came off harsh – it was frustrating.
