    Hi,

Using a child theme for Twenty Thirteen. I need the navigation link change color to reflect the current page.

    Site is here..
    http://www.colonic-irrigation-glasgow.com/test

I’ve used Chrome developer tool and I can see that a CSS selector
    .nav-menu .current_page_item > a
is being applied to only one page/link on the site. Where we are.

    Thanks for all your help.
    C

  • This is strange, the .current-menu-item only assigned to one menu item.

    Suggestion

Notice the suffix -2 or -3 at the end of your page permalink? I suppose that’s caused by page created with the same title while the old one wasn’t permanently deleted. Try remove that suffix, make it nice and clean because permalink should be used permanently. Then go delete the menu and rebuild it, see if the problem goes away.

Also see if there is any plugin that might cause it, try deactivate one by one.

    Hi Paul,

Yes it strange – I noticed that suffix thing with the page as well. I did ‘trash’ the old versions of the page – is there a specific way to permanently delete a page?

I’ll go try delete the whole menu just now and see if that fixes it..

    Thanks..:)

    Success 🙂

Deleted the menu and re-built – it’s now behaving very nicely.

    Thanks Paul!

Great that you fixed the menu thing.

Regarding the permalink, we can always modify it manually after the post/page published, it’s below the post title.

    Hi Paul,

Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you.

I solved this problem – I could only edit the post/page titles once the old pages were properly deleted. I went into the ‘Trash can’ and permanently deleted everything there.

    Thanks for your help 🙂
