Main Site in Multisite remains visible | WordPress.org

I installed multisite with subdomains in order to get a number of sites like site1.mysite.com, site2.mysite.com,etc. The main site is called of course mysite.com, which I don’t want to be visible at all. So I installed your plugin and made the main site “Visible only to administrators of this site” as it says.
This didn’t make any difference, mysite.com remains completely visible to anyone.
Any idea?

Interesting. Sorry that I can only offer what may seem like dumb questions:

I can only reproduce what you describe under two conditions: you have not in fact created a WordPress Network, or you remain logged in. So, …

1. Are you logged out? You should be greeted with the login screen with a “Visible only to administrators of this site” message.
2. Are you certain you have created a WordPress Network? Are all subdomain sites listed under your (http://mysite.com/wp-admin/network/sites.php) Network Admin->Sites page?

3. Are you able to see the “Network Visibility Selector” selector under your Network Admin Settings Screen? (http://mysite.com/wp-admin/network/settings.php)
