I have the latest version of wordpress installed on a dev site, with no other plugins installed. After I install this plugin, and go to view the insite library, I encounter an endless loading animation, and nothing is ever loaded.

When I try to log in to my insite account I receive the following error:

HTTP Status 401 – Authentication Failed: Invalid credentials.
    type Status report
    message Authentication Failed: Invalid credentials.
description This request requires HTTP authentication.

Alos, I think you should menion SOMEWHERE in the documentation that this requires an insite account, and provide a link to sign up. It is unclear that this requires an account.

THis isn’t ready to be on wordpress.org yet, go back and fix the big bugs

    Hey,
Can you please let me know which browser version you are using and what is the url of your wordpress site?
It is a new plugin and we are eager to fix any problem people are seeing.
    Thanks,
    Amir

I tried it in chrome and mozilla firefox, with the same errors (latest versions of browsers). My site is a dev site, and is not available for viewing, sorry.

my dev site is online, with an ip address, just not public

Unfortunately the inSite plugin can only work today on sites with public IP.
We are thinking how to support sites with no local IP.
We will also give proper error messages so users will be aware of that.
Do you happen to have a site with a public IP to check it out?
    Thanks,
    Amir

my dev site is online, with a public ip address, I just don’t wanna give out the address to the public. I never implement anything unless it works on the dev site first, of course. This doesn’t work.

Any chance we can do a screen share so I can look closely at the problem you see?
If your dev has a public IP, this should work.
    Thanks!

    Hey,
Can we do a goto meeting session so we can debug the problem in your browser?
We have hard time to reproduce the problem since it is working fine for other people.
It will only require 10 minutes of your time and will be greatly appreciate.
Please let me know if we can do it and when you’re available (please note your time zone) and I will send the connection details.
    Many thanks,
    Amir

    Hey,
We released two days ago an update for the plugin that supports localhost and sites with no public IP.
Can you please try the following:
    1) Go this url : <Your server address>/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=insite_cleanup
    2) Update the plugin to the latest version (1.1.1) and give it another try
    Many thanks,
    Amir
