(Actually using WP 4.2.2, but that wasn’t in the dropdown)

    Got this error:

There is a per-IP or per-Referer restriction configured on your API key and the request does not match these restrictions. Please use the Google Developers Console to update your API key configuration if request from this IP or referer should be allowed.

But my API Key says “Referrers: Any referrer allowed”
We’re behind CloudFront and using caching inside WP, but I invalidated and deleted both caches.

    Any ideas?

URL of your website where you use or tried to use YTC:

Side note – I made the “Ups something went wrong” message invisible with rgba css – the error message is still there, but I didn’t want it displaying live on the client’s site.

What I can see you revert back to 2.4, right?

No, I’m on version 3.0. I think the old version was still showing on the main page because it was cached by the CDN – can you please check again now?

Please update to latest release (3.0.1) and feedback do you still experiencing same issue?

Just updated to version 3.0.3 after following instruction on the API key, same error when I use the widget: ‘Ups, something went wrong’

Also: I have updated the referrers to ‘any referrer allowed’ for the time being.

I too am having this issue. Has a fix been found as of yet?

Please start new support thread and provide more details (website URL, configuration of widget, do you use some caching plugin or CloudFlare, etc).

I have the same problem. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling and still get Ups, Something went wrong. Any ideas ?

    Found the issue guys…
In Google Developer Console click on API’s & auth > APIs
Then you will see all the different APIs, over on the right click on “YouTube Data API”

It will tell you that v3 is still experimental and to click “ENABLE” to use it.
Once you do that it takes a few minutes and you have to clear the cache in WP and then the API works correctly and shows the videos

@riprod I’m glad you solved issue on your side.

This YT Data API Key is kinda unpredictable. With same restriction settings, I had different results – with one key it works, with other key does not (same type, same configuration – allowed to all).

I’m getting this “ups something…” message with new enabled API inserted into WP-config.php. I followed all the directions.

    I checked installation widget.
Is there something I have to change there?
I had latest version Version 2.4.2.1 working fine.

2.4.2.1 still working on my other blog.

@jrmartinmedia even you did not followed [YTC3] Read before you post support question or report bug and you block right click on your website, I’ll help you to resolve issue you experiencing.

Set proper Channel ID, as explained in FAQ section https://wordpress.org/plugins/youtube-channel/faq/

Thank you for instructions. Sorry I did not furnish all support request information.

I have fixed the problem which was the Channel ID. I have replaced old ID with new numerical version from YOUTUBE.

It is difficult to understand what Vanity and Legacy ID’s, and what their function is; but whatever I have is working now.

Hey, in the source code, I’m getting this error:

    <!– YTC ERROR:
    domain: usageLimits
    reason: ipRefererBlocked
message: There is a per-IP or per-Referer restriction configured on your API key and the request does not match these restrictions. Please use the Google Developers Console to update your API key configuration if request from this IP or referer should be allowed.
tip: Check YouTube Data API Key restrictions and key in wp-config.php, empty cache if enabled and append in browser address bar parameter ?ytc_force_recache=1
    –>

Also, when I add a text link to the widget, it links to:

    https://www.youtube.com/c/AleksandarUrosevic

Rather than my channel. An thoughts?
