    Hi Reachout,

It looks like you have things set up to use the ‘table’ layout. I would recommend heading into the settings page and switching things over to use the ‘div’ layout.

The new version of the plugin gets rid of this setting and ensures things are uniform across sites.

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Evan,

Thanks for getting back to me. I just changed my preferred settings from table to div in MailChimp Forms>Form Options>Preferred Form Layout. I do have the latest version of the plugin. The form still looks the same when I refresh it, though–what am I missing?

    Thanks!

I’m not entirely sure but it looks like your theme is creating that huge gap between the input fields. It shouldn’t be looking like that out of the box. Have you added or altered the styles in any way?

    Evan,

No, I haven’t added or altered the styles. To make sure that’s true, I just deleted the plugin and re-added it, recreating the form. I changed nothing, just added the shortcode to the page linked above. So it is looking like this out of the box… My theme is Weaver II, a fairly common theme, if that helps. Not being a coder, I haven’t altered that theme either… What do you suggest?

    Thanks!

    Hi Evan,

I haven’t heard back from you in the last 2 months, and I am still unable to use this form because of the extra space. Please see the thread above for what I have tried. What do you recommend?

    Thanks very much.

P.S. I am using the Weaver II theme, and their tech support says that they cannot see any Weaver II CSS that might be causing the problem. They asked for more specifics, if you do think the theme is causing the problem–I’m not a coder, but it sounds like when they look at the code it is “marked hidden” by “MailChimp” (presumably by your plugin). Again, I’m not quite sure what that means–just passing it along to you. 🙂

    Hi,

Sorry for the long delay in responses. Ultimately we’ve re-written the entire plugin from the ground up. Over time the plugin quickly became bloated and had a few issues that we needed to iron out.

We will be re-releasing the base plugin to the WordPress.org repository by the end of the week, which as mentioned above is a complete re-write of the plugin including the JavaScript and Styles associated with the plugin.

If you want to give the new version a try you’ll see that it’s far superior to our previous version”

You can download it directly from the following URL:

The add-ons should be released mid august, as we receive initial feedback post launch.

    Thanks,
    Evan

After taking a closer look, I can see that your form is being wrapped inside of
<pre></pre> tags, which is shouldn’t be.

Remove the <pre></pre> tags from around the form and you’re issue should then disappear.

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Evan,

You are correct–thanks so much for noticing that. The form looks much better now.

    Much appreciated!!

No problem at all! Glad we got it squared away for you.
