Support » Fixing WordPress » Web site not working with Safari IOS 8

  • Ever since iOS 8 on the iPad and iPhone, we can not get one of our WordPress web page to run (see below). Other WordPress pages for the same site work properly. If I use Safari on a Mac all the web pages work properly. If I use the Chrome browser on the iPad or iPhone, all the web pages work properly. I have examined all the plugins and settings associated with 2 instances of WordPress ( one working web page and the non-working web page), and I have not found a plugin or setting that can correct this problem.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? Had anyone found a solution to this problem?

  • That’s very strange. You could check your .htaccess. Maybe there is a mistake.
Try to set the Permalinks to default.

Your Site has a very large load time: 6.59s (http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/edQB0W/http://retraiteenaction.ca/blogue/)
and a large page size too. (8.1mb)
Try to minimize this, even if this is not the reason of the error.

    Thanks julianweiland.
    I tried your suggestions.
Not too familiar with the .htcaccess, but it looks similar to other sites.
    Permalinks is OK.
I reduced the size of the photos, No effect.
Thanks for the link to tools.pingdom.com, this is a useful diagnostic tool.
The site still gets stuck using Safari iOS on iPad and iPhone.

I removed slideshow from this site, just in case they use Flash. Still get the same problem.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.
