• After upgrading a client site to 4.2.1, when attempting to edit one of the pages on the site, it displays as a blank page with uneven red lines for both the Visual and Text tab when logged in as a user with “Editor’ permissions. If I highlight the edit area, I can see the html. If I log in as the admin user, the content displays normally when editing the page. This page is displaying normally on the website. It is only happening with one page, all other pages and posts are displaying properly when editing using the ‘Editor’ login.

Why is a single page not working properly when trying to edit while logged in as an “Editor’ user but works fine logged in as an ‘Admin’ user?

    Thanks!

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Hi James, thank you for the response. Unfortunately, none of these solutions worked.

The user who is assigned as an “Editor” cannot edit the one page. Editing all other pages works fine.

The user assigned the role of “Administrator” can edit the one page no problem.

Any other ideas on why a User Role would impact the ability to edit just one page on the site after the WordPress upgrade?

Note: the page does have a table in the content

Did you use any function of a particular plugin to create the page, are you using any plugins to manage user levels?

I am not using any plugin or function for the page, however, I am using HTML formatting including a table with rows and columns.

I am not using any special plugins to manage users, just the native user management that comes with WordPress.

    Thanks!

Can you create another new Editor, and can that Editor access the page?
