Some Post Types not Showing in Admin Menu

    I am having a very odd thing happen. One of my post types is not showing in the admin menu. I have 6 custom post types currently and only 5 of them actually show in the admin menu. If I go in and set one of the posts to “Show in menu: False” the other post type suddenly shows up in place of the one I just set to false. Also, If i go through and resave the missing post type it will suddenly show up but then a different post type disappears. Any idea what is happening here? Does wordpress limit the number of custom posts shown in the admin area?

    Are you doing custom menu positions at all? I have to wonder if somehow the position values are clashing. No limit I know of, and I’ve seen/worked on sites that have more than 6.

    I am not using menu positions as far as I know. I checked the source code and the post is not showing up at all. I will keep digging on this…

    Are you able to disable other plugins safely? A little curious if it would occur with just CPTUI active and no others.

    Ha ! A similar thing his just happened except that I’d lost some admin fields in the custom posts. Disabled a plug-in and ta-da ! they’re back 🙂

    I was able to figure out which plugin is causing a conflict with this. The plugin is called “WP Responsive Menu”. Once I deactivated it the missing CPT showed back up. It is like the plugin is overwritting the menu location because it shows up in the spot where the CPT was. Marking as resolved.

    Glad you figured out the source. Hard to tell exactly why it happens, other than probably both getting the same menu position value and one being loaded after the other?
