    First and foremost you should know that this plugin pulls your contact data from the wordpress settings page and they use that to email you when you install and again if you uninstall. Since you’re not registering for their service intentionally just by trying out their plugin, I consider this action to be a breach of privacy.

    Agreed with the “code canyon” remark. This is a week long trial with a limitation of 50 products and the plugin itself is downright obnoxious. Awful for small businesses. If you’re a big business, you can do better than this.

    My suggestion: Pull that auto-email function. If you want to email people about the plugin, make them actually sign up for that trial. Free and Premium plugins should be separated and sending unsolicited emails by accessing information not granted to you is beyond creepy.

    Sorry that you feel this way about our plugin,however there are a few points that are factually incorrect in your review that require clarification:
    1. InstantSearch+ is a hosted service plugin. As such, you are getting a service – whether it’s a free trial, free subscription, or a premium subscription. The minimum in every hosted service is an email to facilitate basic communication. Thousands of users have downloaded the product without any need to go through a long registration process.
    2. Welcome and Uninstall emails are basic industry practices for any service.
    3. It is a 30 day free trial where you can experience all features without any limitations. It is clearly stated in bold in the first paragraph of the product description. (Not 1 week limited to 50 as you wrote)
    4. We have thousands of users who enjoy our service for free, as well as hundreds who subscribe to affordable plans. It’s actually pretty accommodating to small businesses, when they are getting lighting fast state-of-the-art search at an affordable cost.
