• Hello.

I’ve just starting trying to get this setup, and it seems to be really simple (kudos on that by the way), except that it doesn’t seem to actually affect my cart on Amazon. When I hit the button on my web page, it takes me to Amazon and says “Please confirm that you want to add the item(s) listed below to your cart.” I hit the continue button, but it just takes me to a page that says my shopping cart is empty. Have I set something up wrong, or is this an error on Amazon’s end?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Thanks for trying the plugin. I just tried the ‘Add to cart’ template on my site and it works as expected for US and UK locales.

What ASIN are you trying to buy/link to? (Maybe the product is not actually available for sale?).
What locale is it directing you to? (I have not tested it in all locales recently).
Do you have a link to the page where you are using the shortcode? (Maybe it’s a browser / amazon account problem).

    Cheers,

    Paul

    Hi Paul,

I’m trying to use it to access Amazon.ca, which may be the problem. I know the item is on sale because it’s my book, which I know is available. I worked around the issue and used the text version of the plugin to just take you straight to the Amazon page, which is actually better for me. So yeah, I don’t need help anymore, but you might look into it not working for Canada.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback I’ll test the Canada locale.

I have the same problem… seems to be Kindle related and affecting “Add to Cart” links. My book (The Rusty Nut Bible ASIN: B00T4S667U) is also available as a paperback (ASIN: 1503176398).

The link for the paperback works fine and puts the product in the basket… the link for the Kindle ebook doesn’t add anything…

I’m using the Multinational link which adds an extra step because it goes to the Amazon product page but it’s fine as a workaround for now…

Edited previous post… (just in case you’re already there…)

    Hmmm,

Yes the Kindle books definitely do not work.

However this looks to be because Amazon do not have an option to add Kindle books to your shopping cart – its 1-click or nothing.

I’ll look into creating a 1-click link, not sure if this is ok to do from a ‘remote’ site though?

    Paul
