Depending on the plugin for most-viewed-posts you’re using, you can use the custom field menu to get these posts. Enter your value of the meta key in “Get post with this meta key” field. But I advice to use a specific plugin in order to do so. Plugins that count the most viewed posts, usually have a widget to show these posts.
The plugin should work fine with WP Super Cache, even if I never used this plugin.
Let me know, please.
Do i need to use a separate plugin to pull data for most viewed posts? Is it not directly possible via post-retrieving settings within Posts in Sidebar plugin?
I thought we can make use of meta fields to pull data? I also used this as reference
But I am not sure if this will make the plugin and settings work with WP Super Cache.
I was thinking you were using a plugin. In this case, assuming that you have a meta key (for example, “post_views”) that stores a numeric value (the number of views of the single post), follow these steps:
1) in “Get post with this meta key” field, enter the key to retrieve (for example, “post_views”);
2) leave blank the field “Get post with this meta value”;
3) in “Order posts by” select “Meta value number”;
4) in “The order will be” select the order you like.
That’s all. Let me know, please.
