  • This is not caused by the 404page Plugin but by your WordPress Settings. You have to activate pretty permalinks to show custom 404 error page.

    Go to Settings -> Permalinks and change the setting to anything but “Default”. If you have write access WordPress will create the needed .htaccess file for you. If not, you’ll have to create it manually. WordPress will show you what to do.

    mod_rewrite has to be installed on your server.
