I want to rename the default type “Place” to “Business”. I have looked through the documentation and see that there is a recommendation to use poedit to edit the .po language file to do this. That all looks pretty straightforward.

But I just want to verify: if I put the edited file back in the regular plugin directory, my edits will be overwritten with the next update. After looking around, it looks like I should put my edited .po & .mo files in: wp-content/languages/plugins/geodirectory. Is that correct?

    Almost sir,

    the right folder would be:

    /wp-content/languages/geodirectory/geodirectory-en_US.mo

    More info here: http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translate-core/

    Thanks!

    Thanks for your speedy response!

Also, when I make this translation change, does it only change the “Place” and “places” that are used in the plugin functions, or will it also make this swap when a user types in “place” as a part of their listing?

I am assuming if I have a page or post outside of the GeoDirectory functions, the word “Place” will not be affected, right?

    Your assumption is correct…

    Thank you!
