I see that some of the plugins are not being updated.
How long should I wait before replacing those plugsin that aren’t updated?

for example let say there is a plugin xyz and in the last 6 months it have not been updated should I replace this with another plugin that was updated a few days ago?

    Thanks

If the plugin is still working, there’s no reason to replace it.

For example, take a look at https://wordpress.org/plugins/limit-login-attempts/

It hasn’t been updated since June of 2012, its compatibility statement hasn’t been touched since WordPress 3.3.2, it has a big scary notice about how old it is, and yet it still works great and is still installed as default by WordPress one-click installers at many reputable hosting providers.

Sometimes there’s just no reason for a plugin author to update their plugin, so they just don’t, but that doesn’t mean you have to scramble to find a replacement.
