re-sequencing posts

hi there

hoping someone can help me – I’m trying to resequence my posts using a sequence function – ideally i need an additional field in the posts pages so I can just add a number and re-sequence accordingly.

I’ve downloaded numerous plugins that don’t appear to work – is anyone able to point me in the right direction?

I would have thought this would be a common request but perhaps not?!
