• Like the topic states:

    What I am attempting:
Aplus.net (hosting company) has the one click install for WP. But it is the old version, not 2.7.

    What I’ve done:
Downloaded 2.7 and unzipped it. Now trying to move it to my web hosts server. I’ve loaded the wp file under the wwwroot and parallel to the Index of my website.

Also, I’ve changed the wp-configsample to the appropriate usernames/database names/passwords, etc and saved as wp-config.php

Once I go to mydomain.com/wordpress/index.php (wordpress being the folder it’s placed under) I get a message “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.” I’ve also tried simply mydomain.com/wordpress – Same result.

What does “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress,” mean.

Thanks, and I hope you can help soon!

  • usually it means the host needs to install it

also, to run the installer, you need to go here
    mydomain.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php
